Resumen: se realiza la caracterización florística de las principales comunidades vegetales que conforman los complejos de turberas de cobertor activas existentes en el N de Galicia mediante la realización de inventarios siguiendo la metodología fitosociológica. Como resultado, se proponen tres nuevas asociaciones vegetales integradas en la alianza Erico mackaianae-Sphagnion papillosi (Or. Erico tetralicis-Sphagnetalia papillosi, Cl. Oxycoccoo-Sphagnetea): Carici durieui-Eriophoretum angustifolii (vegetación turfófila nefelófila), Carici durieui-Molinietum caeruleae (vegetación turfófila heliófila), Carici durieui-Scirpetum cespitosi (vegetación turfófila de pequeños regueros). Estas turberas constituyen las representaciones más meridionales del hábitat 7130 Turberas de cobertura (* para las turberas activas) de la DC 92/43/CEE en el continente europeo.

Summary: the floristic composition of the main plant communities present in the active blanket bogs in the North of Galicia (NW Spain) were studied by means of Braun-Blanquet’s methodology. As a result, three new associations belonging to the Erico mackaianae-Sphagnion papillosi Alliance (Or. Erico tetralicis-Sphagnetalia papillosi, Cl. Oxycocco-Sphagnetea) are described: Carici durieui-Eriophoretum angustifolii (on deep peat soils in shady and foggy slopes), Carici durieui-Molinietum caeruleae (on deep peat soils in sunny slopes) and Carici durieui-Scirpetum cespitosi (in rivulets and springs flowing over mineral-peat mixed soils). These active blanket bogs are the southernmost representatives of the priority habitat “7130 Blanket bogs [* active only]” included in the Annex I of the European “Habitats Directive”.
